as for the interiors, the designers were presented with the challenge of redesigning rooms in a famous hollywood mansion. nate paired up with dan vickery to revamp the dining room and revamp they did! their first smart choice was using day one of the four day contest to plan rather than haphazardly throw paint on the wall. they spent the following three days cool, calm, and collected. nate created a striking graphic that he freehanded on the walls and floor while dan fashioned and shopped for minimalistic furniture that offset the graphic. they incorporated warm wooden accents and wall paneling that played of the coolness of the space so well the room actually hums. candice olson proclaimed that it was absolutely awesome and i couldn’t agree with her more!

next week: kitchens! (and nate will be in philly so i get to watch the show with him)
This is such a beautiful space.
ReplyDeleteHey Rachael, my name is Megan. I recently started following your blog. Love your Etsy designs. Anyway, unfortunately I had to miss the first episode of Design Star but checked Dan out, and I have to say- I was rather impressed with him. He’s incredibly talented, easy to watch, and such a cutie. Looking forward to the rest of the season. I ran across Bromstad’s response and just thought it was too funny not to share. Have a great day!

Nathan and Dan were the clear winners of that challenge! The pink geese may have had punch, but didn't compare to that mural...
ReplyDeleteMegan, I loved David Bromsted's video blog and was glad that his number 1 favorite thing about this challege was Nathan and Dan's mural!
