redone: san francisco edwardian

this san francisco classic edwardian home is a stunner! michael merrill design studio transformed this once problematic residence into the most modern, elegant home ever. before michael merrill stepped in, the bathroom opened into the kitchen (eww!), the hallway was way too narrow, and the place was storage-less.
after waving his magic design wand and demolishing the walls, bathroom, and kitchen, the new and improved floor plan was created to allow the space to flow smoothly. a tiny coat closet was converted into a full stretch of storage hidden behind sliding barn doors, and the kitchen has been outfitted with modern professional grade appliances, a wine storage area, a breakfast nook, and custom cabinetry providing additional storage. i wish i could hop on a plane to san fran and veg out in the space.

i'd especially like to thank mariko at michael merrill design studio for taking the time to send me photos and stories about their projects. i'd also like to give a shout-out to john sutton photography for shooting their afters, oh so fabulously.
