green kitchen

i hosted my very first thanksgiving last week. it was great. the turkey roasted to perfection, the potatoes mashed to ideal consistency, and the cranberry mold jelled to just the right jiggle. the only minor hiccup? now i want a new kitchen.
just imagine my thanksgiving potential in a cookery like today's green kitchen! designed by the fabulous dennis design group, this kitchen is a tribute to environmentally friendly living. green remodeling touches every aspect of construction, from demolition, to construction, and material selection and installation. destruction of the old space was a blast, the team recycled as much as they could and even removed a wall to enhance the room's natural lighting and ventilation.
with a blank slate they got designing. the brand new modern kitchen is a green dream; its materials include, caesarstone, benjamin moore natura paint, energy star appliances, kohler low flow faucets, forest certified wood flooring, and low VOC italian cabinets. it also features recycling bins, a compost bin, a water filtration system, and fluorescent lighting. in addition, the kitchen was designed to be easily cleaned; many smooth, solid materials were selected to eliminate the need of extra cleaning, resulting in less water and product use. phew! next year i would love for my organic pasture raised turkey to be prepared in dennis design group's eco friendly oasis.

i'd especially like to thank lori dennis, principal at dennis design group for sending me information from her los angeles, california firm! i'd also like to credit the amazingly talented construction firm, so cal contractor, for performing this environmentally friendly renovation.

  2. I am totally drooling over your kitchen. The stove hood is one of my favorite parts. Makes me want to move from my 100 year old colonial to a really cool city house!
