when i opened cristiano pigazzini’s email containing photos of note design studio’s recently completed coffee bar, foam, my jaw hit the floor. commissioned by the bar’s owner, michael toutoungi, the stockholm firm was asked “ to create an interior design that people either love or hate and that nobody is indifferent to!” well they’ve found a LOVER in me.
while creating foam the note design team drew inspiration from the complexity of bull fighting. fascinated by the bull and bullfighter’s mutual movements in battle and the erupting colors and passion at a bull fighting stadium, note design studio combined the spanish temperament they desired with their own ingrained scandinavian coolness. the result, the most wildly vivid yet cultured coffee bar of all time.
