nob hill guesthouse

today we're going ultramodern! kuth ranieri architects transformed today’s san francisco cottage (originally built just after the 1906 earthquake) into a transfixing translucent guesthouse. designed to serve as an annex to the client’s primary nob hill residence (located just across an urban alley), the cottage contains a flexible entertaining/gallery/theater space, a studio/workroom, and two full guest suites. with corrugated panels that both reveal and veil its structure, the renovation is simply awesome.

i'd once again like to thank miss gretta tritch at kuth ranieri architects for taking the time to send me photos and stories from their san francisco firm. i'd also like to credit jeremy jachym for shooting the striking after photos.

  1. That transformation is unbelievable! I can't believe how modern the home now looks.

  2. HELP! So I really really REALLY want to get the dachshund cutout that you sent me but I need your opinion. Does that make me the crazy dog lady or is it chic and cute? It's so freakin cute (and kind of chic, right???)
