not your average ordinary

i was virtually-introduced to brandi of not your average ordinary through our mutual blog pal erin of slipcover your life (thursday's guest blogger)! as fellow jersey girls (union county in the house) we instantly hit it off. her eclectic blog constantly inspires and her love for life is contagious!

I'm Brandi from Not Your Average Ordinary. I was so flattered when Rachel asked me to guest post while she's on vacation - I love the amazing transformations she writes about. In sticking with that same before and after theme, I decided to choose a real chameleon of a location: Times Square New York.
New York City changes overnight, and nowhere is this truer than in Times Square. I lived and went to college in the city from 1998 to 2002. So many of the restaurants and shops I went to have now disappeared; new (and occasionally better) ones have taken their places. Even within the span of months, the scenery changes drastically. It's sometimes a little sad, often quite exciting.
That city has a pulse and life to it that few other places have. If you've ever walked around Times Square, then grabbed a subway down to the Lower East Side for a street fair or up to Central Park for a stroll, you know what I mean. My biggest lose in NYC has been a favorite Chinese restaurant; the biggest gain, some fantastic bakeries. It's good when you can live someplace your whole life and step out doors to a new adventure every day.
