when interior designer sarah roberts (of
sarah whit interior design) moved to nyc as a broke, but burgeoning parsons student she brought with her a set of white porcelain lamps with black shoestring shades, a nautical print she picked up on a trip to corsica, and… that’s about it. her bland chelsea starter studio was aching for a spruce up so she let her beloved lamps and print inspire the space. the vibrant colors of the artwork instantly became alive in the studio, with turquoise walls and a cherry red sofa. new york suddenly became corsica. as for the lamps, they inspired the high-lacquered black and white stripes gracing the bar.
Fabulous.
ReplyDeleteSimple and cost effective way of changing the aesthetics of a room without touching the structure. nice! Perfect thing to do to make a rental feel more like your own. PS- I am still not painting ours, because I will only have to re-paint it when we leave!
