stiles fischer interior design is on a raenovating roll this week! today’s transformed home is located in
ladera ranch, california; a newer suburb in southern orange county. typical of many homes in southern california planned communities, the interior featured a precast fireplace, a built in media area, and heavy kitchen. brittany and nathan opted to customize it a bit. paying homage to the woman of the home’s montana roots, a cowhide ottoman and grasscloth wall treatment grace the family room.
ann sacks iridescent glass mosaic tiles were also introduced in the kitchen and new custom built-in dining sideboard area. as the mamas and the papas said, i’d be safe and warm, if i was in ladera ranch, california dreamin’.
The natural tones on the TV wall are great. The backsplash is also a nice touch.
ReplyDeletebeautiful transformation! i'm wondering if anyone can comment on the choice of laying hardwoods diagonally in the living room? is it a new trend? an acceptable option for a strange layout? always a good idea? etc. i'm trying to brainstorm layout ideas for hardwoods in my own home, and trying to reconcile the entryway leading to the family room and down a hallway, etc etc. thanks!!
ReplyDeleteKate, I am assuming you saw the diagonal floor in the living room photo. I think running wood, or tile, at an angle is a great and dynamic way to add character to a room. I would not run it diagonal down a hallway, I think it would be a bit offputting.
