orange street residence, nantucket, massachusetts

HARK THE HERALD ANGELS SING, i'm in love! julia buckingham edelmann, co-author of the clever design blog materiel girls and principal of the north shore chicago firm buckingham interiors + design, has designed my dream new england home. located on orange street in nantucket, the fixer upper was in dire need of tlc and expansion. the buckingham team created a sizable addition to the side of the residence allowing for added entertaining space and a smoother first floor flow. the fireplaces, moldings, original flooring and built-ins pay homage to the home's history while simultaneously stunning visitors with their charm. never have i feasted my eyes on a house with such sophisticated casualty.

i would especially like to thank amy kalmbach of buckingham interiors + design for submitting their nantucket renovation on behalf of julia buckingham edelmann.

  1. Transformation is definitely the word. When I was younger, I used to draw floor plans of my future home. All this one is missing is a library and a greenhouse, but other than that, it could just be perfect.

  2. Oooh wow!! That's such an amazing transformation - I love that it looks SO modern and clean! And my fave has to be that little pod chair & sunken bench in the attic (is it the attic?). That looks like the perfect space to getaway and read or hang out ;)
