redwood city residence

last week patrick perez showed us that he has the skills to overhaul any interior and this week we’re going outdoors and showcasing his exterior renovation skills. located in redwood city, california on the san francisco peninsula, perez was given the task of modernizing a 1950’s rancher. with brady bunch qualities and a layout that didn’t capitalize on all of the square footage available, perez had his work cut out for him. by expanding his client’s living space over the garage and incorporating the front entry stair into the fa├žade, a streamlined home was born. known for its mild weather and views of san francisco bay, it was important that perez make the environment feel more accessible in the redwood city home. by installing a nanawall door system the homeowners can now enjoy a sprawling 12 foot opening to the great outdoors. you’ve done it again, designpad!

i would especially like to thank patrick perez of designpad architecture for submitting transformations from his oakland firm. the spot-on construction was performed by general contractor, chris burnham.

the hampton designer showhouse foyer

while heading to the hamptons this weekend may be dangerous with irene coming thorough, you still have until september 4 to hit up the hampton designer showhouse. on wednesday we featured tilton fenwick’s showhouse room and today i’m excited to reveal that a raenovate veteran was a featured contributor! nina freudenberger of haus interior had the honor of designing the sprawling home’s foyer. with the expertise of fine painter, mark chamberlain, haus transformed the foyer into an old school surfer’s paradise. chamberlain painted 25 panels in a gray flame-stitch pattern while the walls are nautical in benjamin moore’s midnight blue. pattern was also introduced with nina’s fabric and furniture selections. embrace life by the sea in the haus foyer as soon as irene leaves town!

the 2011 hampton designer showhouse is located at 1224 scuttle hole road in bridgehampton, ny and will be open to the public through september 4. nina freudenberger of haus interior provided the goods for today's makeover, with after photo 1 by michael rodenbush, photo 2 by traditional home, and photos 3-5 by mark chamberlain, the space's fine painter.

ashbury heights edwardian flat

tyler and i are staying blocks away from today’s renovated home on our honeymoon and if breaking and entering wasn’t illegal we’d check it out in person. located in ashbury heights, san francisco, architect patrick perez recently worked his magic updating this classic edwardian flat. best known for masterfully blending traditional architecture with modern amenities, perez focused on introducing a cohesive flow to the 90+ year old floor plan. a new stairway was designed to connect the home’s two floors and the kitchen’s layout was reworked. the final design is seamless. with its new arrangement the residence is flooded with california sunshine.

here's a huge thank you to patrick perez of designpad architecture for submitting transformations from his oakland firm. the spot-on construction was performed by general contractor, dromhus, the interior design by julie babin and the after photos by kee sites.

the hampton designer showhouse basement

summer is slowly but surely winding down which means the hampton designer showhouse is only open for a couple more weeks! located in bridgehampton, ny, touring the stunning beach mansion benefits the southampton hospital and your creative juices. featuring a bevy of the east coast’s most sought after interior designer firms, the residence is brimming with inspiration and design excellence, including tilton fenwick and their redesign of the home’s basement lounge.
suysel depedro cunningham and anne maxwell foster, the women behind tilton fenwick, wholeheartedly took on the basement transformation, making it their first showhouse experience. inspired by the philosophy of summer living in the hamptons, suysel and anne designed the room around the expansive walk-out glass doors. their color palette of green and blue feels seasonal without being overly nautical. their furniture and finish choices are spot on, including the vaughn lantern, brunshwig and fils fabric, and circa lighting. before summer is over, head to the hampton designer showhouse and escape in tilton fenwick’s basement lounge.

notting hill flat

when i studied abroad in london i walked the streets, staring adoringly at the architecture of the city's quaint residences, wishing i had x-ray vision so that i could see inside of them. lotta cole has just virtually given us an inside look at her recent notting hill interior transformation, finally granting my london x-ray vision wish.
nestled in london's quirkiest neighborhood, the dated flat didn't flow AND it boasted a vegetable themed kitchen. lotta cole changed all of that. her design scheme mixes bright splashes of color and reclaimed materials. she also interjected eccentric detailing throughout, such as the antique spoon handles in the kitchen, connecting the interior with the neighborhood's exterior. it's so very notting hill.

i would especially like to thank lotta cole of lotta cole design for sharing her transformations on raenovate. cole designs from her studio in notting hill while hailing from sweden.

historic hopewell home!

hopewell new jersey is one of the garden state’s quaintest towns, with an adorable main street and a plethora of historic buildings; it’s one of my favorite destinations. a major contributing factor to the amazingness of hopewell are george and eileen, my almost-mother-in-law’s bffs. they purchased a historical gem of a home and continually restore the heck out of it. although the house had been previously renovated when they acquired the property, there was still plenty of work to be done! george and eileen converted the attic into a large useable story, landscaped, added a deck, and transformed the dilapidated garage into a massage studio. it’s clear that every detail has been thoughtfully and beautifully executed because had they not, you wouldn’t immediately feel at home when you step foot onto their property.

i would especially like to thank eileen for sharing her restoration photos with me. she has created a handsome home and the most serene massage studio in her renovated garage (where she is happily accepting new clients).

lehi, utah exterior renovation

tiek built homes has quickly worked their way to the top of my book. since learning about them over a month ago i cannot seem to escape them, and that's a good thing. photos of their designs are taking over pinterest and flooding design blogs, including their recent exterior renovation of a lehi residence. the exterior was dated and a bit sad looking, but steve tiek did what he does best and whipped it into shape. by adding columns, shingles and switching out the windows a modern home was born.

i would especially like to thank allison tiek of tiek built homes for sharing their redesigns straight from orem, utah.
