upstairs, the entryway opens up to the spacious living room. the family space was also mustard with green and pumpkin walls looming nearby. today it’s light and bright with benjamin moore’s intense white walls. doug and elissa installed dark flooring, crown moudling and baseboards, adding some architectural pizzazz to the space. they also crafted custom pillows and bargain shopped for furniture.

finally we go back downstairs to the home office, where they went all out, ikea hacking up a storm. never have i seen a billy bookcase look so amazing. doug replaced the flimsy cardboard backs with bead board, built up the base, and added a substantial header and crown moulding. he also designed and installed a customized panel for the end gable and trimmed out all the joints to make it look like one unit, not three. HOME OFFICE HEAVEN!

i would once again like to thank elissa toews for granting me the permission to borrow photos from her blog, our house. don’t fret, there are more toews transformations where this came from!

These spaces looks absolutely beautiful. I love the transformation of the bookcases! Would the Toews mind sharing where they got the white console table?
ReplyDeleteHello! The white console table is from ikea-- it's the malm dressing table-- it comes with a glass top but I chose to not use the glass. You can find it here:

Thank you Elissa. One more question, which paint color did you use in your living room? I'd like to lighten up my space but I'm notorious for wrong paint selections.
ReplyDelete@Elissa: Nevermind. I just came across your blog and love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG your house looks AWEEEEEEESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust a question about the bookshelves ... what kind of paint did you use to tie in the molding and make it look custom? Thanks! They look amazing!!!
