the 2012 san francisco decorator showcase catering kitchen

back in january i attended the alt design summit and sat in on a panel called ‘let’s talk about collaborations’. i don’t believe that allison bloom and tinsley hutson-wiley were in attendance, but i’m pretty sure that their current san francisco decorator showcase collaboration exemplifies the message of the panel. when two wildly talented professionals join forces, the result is bound to be explosively amazing!
allison and tinsley first transformed the dim galley catering kitchen by removing the upper cabinets, dark finishes, and dated marble. next they introduced a palette of cream, khaki and kohl, mio metals’ zinc countertops, oak plank for the floors and wall and 6 x 12 canvas field tile by heath ceramics. finally, they got jazzy with décor and details. willem racke painted the iconic union jack with high gloss lacquer, spinneybeck provided black leather drawer pulls for the cabinetry, kristine mays' "the homemaker" wire sculpture was installed courtesy of stephanie breitbard fine arts and the flooring was painted in benjamin moore’s pale oak to brighten the room. the result is breathtaking! together, dehn bloom design and tinsley hutson-wiley interior design were able to drastically modernize and harmonize the 2012 san francisco decorator showcase catering kitchen.

the 2012 san francisco decorator showcase house is located at 2020 jackson street and will be open through may 28. proceeds benefit the financial aid program at san francisco university high school. the lovely allison bloom of dehn bloom design provided the goods for today’s makeover, with after photos by, john merkl.
