isabella cairess favaro's kitchen!

after reigning as the senior producer and director of canadian house and home media for 10 years, isabella cairess favaro knew it was time to take her work home and renovate her kitchen. working hand in hand with the folks at AyA kitchens and baths, isabella created her dream (and coincidentally my dream) bistro-style kitchen. new additions include charcoal painted lower cabinets and creamy white uppers, vintage chandeliers, antique brass cabinet hardware, maple flooring in a custom gray stain, cararra marble countertops, salvaged timber open shelving and a long counter-height table/island.

to see more on the kitchen's transformation head to isabella's renovator's notebook on!

chair story!

over a year ago my mom sent me this picture message from a garage sale at sleepy hollow lake:

i replied immediately begging for her to purchase; $75 and 210 miles later they were ours! after researching fabrics and upholsterers, we selected caitlin wilson's charcoal city maze and frank hille upholstery. tyler painted and repaired the frames and off they went to franks. a few weeks later they were complete and we found out just how meant to be they really were. upon receiving them we learned that many moons ago they had been reupholstered, at frank hille upholstery! these babies are drawn to camden county, nj!

i would especially like to thank tyler for his work on the frames, caitlin wilson for her beautiful fabric, frank hille upholstery for their amazing craftsmanship and most of all my parents for finding the fated chairs and treating us to their makeover!

carpentry in cinnaminson!

with all the fabulous work that trg home concepts' has been doing lately, raenovate is turning into quite the fan-page! tyler's latest carpentry endeavor was for a growing family in need of storage and charm. with an 18-month-old and another on the way, hiding toys was a top priority. the parents also wanted a storage unit that could house their television and a/v equipment and look good at the same time. tyler combined cabinetry from adelphi, a butcher block countertop and custom crown molding to create the brand new built-in entertainment unit. paired with walls in benjamin moore's gray owl, the updated living room is just as beautiful as the family that occupies it!

all work was performed by trg home concepts!

louisville backyard

meet rock paper hammer, a design-build team of architects, carpenters and builders and my newest obsession. specializing in residential design and construction in louisville kentucky, they are making over the city one home at a time.
first up, we have their louisville backyard before + after. the house's dilapidated deck structure was replaced with a new, sleek outdoor living area; the fresh exterior features ipe decking and a dramatic wide staircase for access to the patio and swimming pool. additionally, an existing unused staircase was removed and replaced with a metal juliet balcony railing, allowing for extra room around the pool deck. with crisp and modern details, the stately, historic brick home is most certainly kicked up!

i’d especially like to thank emily fisher at rock paper hammer for taking the time to send me photos of their designs. not only does rock paper hammer have a kickin' website but they're also featured on houzz!

beverlywood before + after!

los angeles interior designer georgette westerman recently cooked up a beverlywood kitchen worthy of praise! designed for a young, growing family, georgette chose a white and gray color palette for the space. crisp white shaker cabinet doors, clean matte pulls, shiny gray caesarstone countertops, an exquisite white beveled arabesque tiled backsplash, sparkling new appliances, and a light gray amtico tiled floor combine to create the scheme. top it off with a reworked dining banquette and we've got ourselves a kitchen made in heaven. the adjacent remodeled powder room isn't too shabby either!

i would especially like to thank georgette westerman of georgette westerman interiors for submitting redesigns from her los angeles firm. the after photos were taken by the talented lynn abesera.

our home office!

as promised, i finally got my act together and photographed our completed home office! tyler busted his behind to get the space completed, quickly and efficiently a month (or two) ago, and now she’s ready to be unveiled. like in the rest of our home, we strived to create a space that was both craftsman and modern while taking full advantage of tyler's carpentry skills (trg home concepts in the house!). after researching historical mouldings, we outfitted the space with a custom coffered ceiling. we also installed new maple hardwood flooring, created a built-in desk and ran electric for a wall light. the completion of this room now marks the fifth redone space in our house, and with each one i fall more and more in love with our little home.
